RMA led the Unified Visions Downtown Providence multi-stage project as the Geotechnical Engineer and GeoEnvironmental consultant, completing the 10% design and being awarded the 100% design which is currently in progress. Up to this stage this included characterizing the urban and riparian environments, planning investigations, and restoring the historic riverwalk with minimal trace. The design involved subsurface geotechnical exploration, historical mapping, and marine structures for river wall modifications, pile design for the riverwalk and bridge elements. RMA also prepared geotechnical and marine construction drawings and specifications, collaborating with teams to address ecological, riparian, and urban challenges.
